Adrian, Fabian, Julian and Balou the dog
We are a family of five. My husband has been with the Canadian Forces for 20 years. He works as a Public Health Inspector and Preventitive Medicine Technician. I, Judith, am a mother and housewife and don't work outside of the home.

Here is a picture of our three boys at Christmas 2005:

Our son Adrian is a successful businessman and lives in Winnipeg. Julian and Fabian live at home.

Then there is ol' Balou whom we raised from when he was a little Puppy.

The children have many valuable memories of Balou. Two examples are Balou pulling them around in a sled and Balou letting Fabian have naps on his back for hours. Balou is now almost 10 years old and still going strong! He really is the best dog we ever owned.
Our interests are "family stuff", singing, having friends over, kittiecats, horses and sports. My husband plays mandolin and I play guitar. We are a Christian Family and Jesus Christ has done great things in our life. We love people (well, we try to at least :)).
My husband is Canadian and I am German. We immigrated to Canada in 1991. I came across my first Maine Coon in 1987, when we were still living in Germany. Her name was Mira (Tilly Cats of Silverdream) She was a beautiful cold solid Blue with White girl. Drawn by the gentle and easygoing disposition of this breed, I acquired two more cats and spent some weekends traveling to shows. I then developed a very small breeding program and raised a few litters of kittens. My cattery name in Germany from 1987 to 1991 was "Dustin's" (after our little dog Dustin).
In 1991 my husband was posted to Canada, and the only animals we could bring with us was our Dog Dustin and our oldest Maine Coon Mira. We had Mira spayed shortly after our arrival in Canada because we were planning to expand our family and raise two more babies of our own. Julian and Fabian were born 17 months apart and breeding was just not an issue anymore, even though we always had Maine Coons living with us. So, we were "just" fanciers for a few years, before we started over again in 1997. Mira did make her Championship after all in 1992 at an ACFA show in Winnipeg. In spring of 1997 we purchased our first breeding females here in Canada and shortly after PrairieBaby Cattery was founded. We presently show our cats in ACFA.
